Jim started his career at Arthur Andersen’s Houston office after having graduated from Rice University with multiple Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science, Economics, and Management Science. He also holds a Master’s degree in Accounting. While working in the tax division at Arthur Anderson for eight years, he gained expertise in oil and gas taxation, estate and trusts, and internal tax planning.
Jim joined Karsh & Co. in 1991. Jim has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and has a passion for helping business owners succeed. He has extensive experience with:
· SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research)companies and helping them achieve the best tax results by taking advantage of Research & Development Credits.
· Oil and gas taxation.
· Inbound and outbound international tax structuring.
· Mergers and acquisitions. Jim has assisted over a hundred clients in acquiring or selling businesses in a wide variety of industries.
